Paris City Hall is considering several options to compensate for the housing crisis, here are a few:
Plan Local d'Urbanisme (PLU), which envisages high-rise buildings for ZAC Paris Rive Gauche, in the 13th district from 2014. PLU this limit at present buildings to 37 meters in height. The Council will propose to amend the PLU for the construction sector can reach 50 meters for residential buildings and up to 180 meters for office buildings.
A new Local Housing Program (PLH) to guide the City Council for its housing needs.The city wants to achieve the target of 20% social housing in 2014. In addition, private housing rents have increased since 10 years almost 50%, the mayor of Paris will ask that the law of 6 July 1989 be amended to a framing device of rents in the private sector starts up in Paris and its suburbs.
